The first circunavigation of the world was made in 1519-1522 by Ferdinand magellan starting in the crown of castile crosing the atlantic and the pacific ocean.

Ferdinand Magellan was a portuguese explored born in Sabrosa the north part of portugal, in the year 1480. At little age he start to work, later whe n he was 20 he start to make little voyages near the coast and he took the expiernce.
Ferdinand Magellan (1480-1521):
This Portuguese navigator was the discoverer of the southern strait that bears his name, and which connects the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The expedition that led to it went around the world for the first time aunqe died before completing the feat. Lusitana belonged to a noble family. He was born in the region of Trás-os-Montes to 1480. In 1505 joined the expedition of Francisco de Almeida, the first Portuguese viceroy of the Far East, which should contain the Muslim power in Africa and India. He was part of the expedition of Lope de Siqueira who was in Malacca (1509). In the Council of captains for the conquest of Goa opined against the plans of the viceroy and lost royal favor. The second viceroy Alfonso de Albuquerque achieved a number of successes in its expansion plan. Calicut attacked, conquered Goa (1510), and occupied Malacca. As requests and projects Magallanes Don Manuel the Fortunate were rejected, went to Spain to offer his services to Charles I (later Emperor Charles V). According to the Treaty of Tordesillas, Spain had taken possession of the western lands of America, then, the Spaniards saw the need to find a channel to communicate the Atlantic and Pacific oceans across America, to use on the road to India route avoiding the Cape of Good Hope was left within the Portuguese rule. Juan Diaz de Solis had sought the passage in 1515, those who were able to return from this expedition would be wrong to believe have discovered in the estuary Mar Dulce (Mar del Plata). Magellan proposed to the King to undertake the search for such channel proposition was accepted in 1518. The assignment was to find a way that would reach the Moluccas Islands in the South Pacific, rich in spices. The capitulations signed by Magellan and his teammate Rui Faleiro, foresaw that they and their descendants would correspond to the government of all the lands they found, in addition to one-twentieth of the profits they earned on their decubrimientos. The Spanish Crown gave the five ships that made the expedition, which were equipped in the port of Seville: the "Trinity", the "San Antonio", the "Conception", the "Santiago" and "Victoria". Only the latter survived the journey and the 250 men who began their journey only managed 17.
